What can I do with this crawling microbug kit?
Build a fun, colourful pet with this crawling microbug kit (manufacturer code MK129). The microbug has a bug-like jittery movements and chases after light. Control your bug’s movements by using a torch or similar and adjusting the sensitivity so it follows the beam of light. Choose between two different walks and adjustable speed. The LED eyes indicate what direction it’s going in. Sized just 110mm x 90mm this kit can be fitted in almost anything. Great kit to build and play with in 25 parts.
What can I learn about with this solder kit?
Practice soldering and learn about electronics and circuits with this sound to light kit solder kit which uses resistors, capacitors, transistors, LEDs and potentiometers (variable resistors). Learn how they are connected in a circuit and get practical experience soldering them. Two open chassis subminiature motors control the movement and speed the bug travels at and the LDRs (light dependent resistors) control the direction based on how much light they detect. You can use the potentiometer to alter the speed and light sensitivity of the bug. This kit requires a soldering iron and solder and may require wire cutters and a file.
How easy is this kit to solder?
Simple to solder, this kit is great for those looking to progress beyond beginner projects. Have fun putting together your kit then you can expand on your project. You could create a body for your bug and customise it with antenna, wings and extra legs (not included) to make a unique robotic pet.
